Hi there, I’m Matthew, and it’s great to have you visiting my website. I hope you get plenty of value from the content available.
I should tell you a little bit about myself. I’m a sports fanatic, with a passion for almost anything and everything. Whether it’s football, motorsport, golf, Aussie Rules Footy, ice hockey, American football….I think you get the picture.
One of my many loves is German football, and my first memory of watching the Bundesliga dates back to 2009, when the league was on free-to-air TV here in Australia. Borussia Dortmund beat 1. FC Köln thanks to a Marvin Matip own goal that night, and a passion was born.
It’s crazy to think that in 2025, I would have the opportunity to work for the DFL Deutsche Fussball Liga GmbH (Bundesliga) after covering both leagues for six plus years. An experience that saw me move from Australia to Germany for an unforgettable period, focusing on digital marketing, experiential marketing, and public relations within the global marketing team.
Prior to my time in Germany, I spent 18 months with the Bundesliga’s host broadcaster in Australia and New Zealand, beIN SPORTS. At beIN, I worked on OTT projects for Amazon Prime Video and Samsung TV, as well as short-form video content for TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook.
When I get some time to myself, you’ll find me hitting the golf course trying to break 100 on the regular, burning around in classic V10 Formula 1 cars on the racing simulator or spending time with those who matter most.

Work Experience
DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga GmbH
Role: Manager, Global Marketing (June 2025 - December 2025)
In my role as Manager, Global Marketing at DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga GmbH, I worked at the intersection of strategy, storytelling, and international growth for the Bundesliga. Partnering closely with senior leadership across digital marketing, experiential marketing, and public relations, I helped shape and deliver global marketing initiatives that strengthened the league’s presence worldwide. From producing key media resources for international journalists to researching emerging trends across sport and entertainment, my work helped the Bundesliga engage new audiences. I also played an integral role in bringing the league to life through international events, media visits, influencer activations, and club-led campaigns across priority markets, collaborating closely with internal teams and clubs to ensure cohesive, impactful execution.
beIN SPORTS
Role: Marketing Assistant (December 2023 - May 2025)
As a Marketing Assistant at beIN SPORTS APAC, I supported the brand's growth across Asia Pacific by blending data-driven strategy with creative execution. I helped develop and implement cross-channel marketing campaigns spanning SEO, content, social media, email, and video, promoting a diverse portfolio of sports, including football, tennis, rugby, and motorsport. From optimising email and push notification campaigns to producing high-performing video and visual content for platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, Amazon Prime Video, and Samsung TV, my work consistently drove measurable audience growth and engagement. I also leveraged audience insights and keyword research to inform regional strategies, driving increased organic traffic, stronger subscriber engagement, and sustained market expansion across ANZ and broader APAC.
Role: Project Manager and Copywriter (December 2020 - December 2024)
At Digital Marketing Tribe, I progressed from Digital Marketing Intern and Copywriter to Project Manager, combining creative storytelling with strategic delivery. I led projects from concept to execution, defining scope, budgets, KPIs, and forecasts while working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to communicate clear value propositions informed by market and competitive research. Alongside project management, I crafted high-impact copy across social, advertising, and long-form content, strengthening brand recognition, improving SEO performance, and driving client conversions. I also helped elevate client engagement by developing improved CRM processes, building scalable social media strategies, and integrating influencer and ambassador partnerships, contributing to sustained brand growth and measurable business outcomes.
